This code was using get_user_pages*(), and all of the callers so far
were in a "Case 2" scenario (DMA/RDMA), using the categorization from [1].That means that it's time to convert the get_user_pages*() + put_page()
calls to pin_user_pages*() + unpin_user_pages() calls.There is some helpful background in [2]: basically, this is a small part
of fixing a long-standing disconnect between pinning pages, and file

This patch is a part of a series that extends kernel ABI to allow to pass
tagged user pointers (with the top byte set to something else other than
0x00) as syscall arguments.get_vaddr_frames uses provided user pointers for vma lookups, which can
only by done with untagged pointers. Instead of locating and changing all

Until there is a solution to the dma-to-dax vs truncate problem it is
not safe to allow V4L2, Exynos, and other frame vector users to create
long standing / irrevocable memory registrations against filesytem-dax

Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.How this work was done:
Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
- file had no licensing information it it.
- file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
- file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
- Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
- Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
lines of source
- File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if

There are many code paths opencoding kvmalloc. Let's use the helper
instead. The main difference to kvmalloc is that those users are
usually not considering all the aspects of the memory allocator. E.g.
allocation requests

replaces them with 'gup_flags' to make the use of FOLL_FORCE explicit in
callers as use of this flag can result in surprising behaviour (and

We will soon modify the vanilla get_user_pages() so it can no
longer be used on mm/tasks other than 'current/current->mm',
which is by far the most common way it is called. For now,
we allow the old-style calls, but warn when they are used.
(implemented in previous patch)This patch switches all callers of:
get_user_pages()
get_user_pages_unlocked()
get_user_pages_locked()to stop passing tsk/mm so they will no longer see the warnings.

Provide new function get_vaddr_frames(). This function maps virtual
addresses from given start and fills given array with page frame numbers of
the corresponding pages. If given start belongs to a normal vma, the function
grabs reference to each of the pages to pin them in memory. If start
belongs to VM_IO | VM_PFNMAP vma, we don't touch page structures. Caller
must make sure pfns aren't reused for anything else while he is using
them.This function is created for various drivers to simplify handling of
