  • - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of
    CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so.
    - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define
    to 0.
    - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR.
    - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it.
    - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and
    SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT
    - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR
    for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location.
    - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but
rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default.
    - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use
CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within
    ENV_IS_IN_FLASH.
    - Migrate all platforms.

  • This patch removes CONFIG_SYS_DSPI_XX options from
    include/configs "m68k" .h board files, since CTAR
registers are now set with default values in the cf_spi
driver initialization, and configurable by devicetree.

Note, these options cannot be totally removed from the
whitelist, since still used from boards using fsl_dspi.c
    (mostly arm-based boards).

  • This converts the following to Kconfig:
    CONFIG_ENV_SPI_BUS
    CONFIG_ENV_SPI_CS
    CONFIG_ENV_SPI_MAX_HZ
    CONFIG_ENV_SPI_MODE

Most of time these value are not needed, CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT
with same value is used, so I introduced CONFIG_USE_ENV_SPI_*
to force the associated value for the environment.

  • This converts the following to Kconfig:
    CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_BUS
    CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_CS
    CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_MODE
    CONFIG_SF_DEFAULT_SPEED

I use moveconfig script and then manual check on generated u-boot.cfg
    to solve the remaining issue.

  • In legacy CONFIG_HARD_SPI initalizing spi_init code, which
was removed during dm conversion cleanup.

So remove the dead instances of CONFIG_HARD_SPI, and related
    code.

  • When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.

In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.

This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
    and have introduced one.

  • The following config symbols are only defined once and never referenced
    anywhere else:

    CONFIG_AMCORE
    CONFIG_ASTRO5373L
    CONFIG_M52277EVB
    CONFIG_M5253DEMO
    CONFIG_M5253EVBE
    CONFIG_M5275EVB
    CONFIG_M54418TWR
    CONFIG_STMARK2

Most of them are config symbols named after the respective boards which
seems to have been a standard practice at some point.

  • Sysam stmark2 board is a generic and fully (hw and sw) open board, with
a mcf54415 Coldfire CPU, 128MB of DDR2, 16MB of SPI flash and SD card
as non volatile memories, and a wifi module included on-board.
The board is actually used mainly for Coldfire custodian testing activity
related to the mcf5441x Coldfire family.
