At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.Signed-off-by: Tom Rini

Author: Boris Brezillon
Date: Fri Aug 4 17:29:10 2017 +0200mtd: nand: Rename nand.h into rawnand.h
We are planning to share more code between different NAND based
devices (SPI NAND, OneNAND and raw NANDs), but before doing that
we need to move the existing include/linux/mtd/nand.h file into
include/linux/mtd/rawnand.h so we can later create a nand.h header

commit: 65f83802b7a5b "serial: 16550: Add getfcr accessor"
breaks u-boot commandline working with long commands
sending to the board.Since the above patch, you have to setup the fcr register.
For board/archs which enable OF_PLATDATA, the new field
fcr in struct ns16550_platdata is not filled with a
default value ...This leads in not setting up the uarts fifo, which ends
in problems, when you send long commands to u-boots
commandline.Detected this issue with automated tbot tests on am335x
based shc board. The error does not popup, if you type commands. You need
to copy&paste a long command to u-boots commandshell
(or send a long command with tbot)Possible boards/plattforms with problems:

A few boards still use ns16550_platdata structures, but assume the structure

this should also help 'future-proof' in the event the structure changes.Tested on the Logic PD Torpedo + Wireless.

U-Boot has been broken on Overo boards since commit
a6b541b09022acb6f7c2754100ae26bd44eed1d9.This is because the gd pointer is not set early enough anymore,
such that the i2c_set_bus_num in get_board_revision can safely
execute. This results in a console hang at SPL and the boot does
not proceed. This piece of code is anyway necessary only for really old Overo
boards with revision numbers -
This separates the SPL-specific code from the u-boot-specific code for
the Overo board following the discussion at
http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2015-April/211622.htmlThe code is split up into spl.c, overo.c and common.c (which
has the code common to both)Signed-off-by: Arun Bharadwaj

(e.g. MMC2 power can be controlled by another LDO than VMMC2).
This delegates TWL4030 MMC power initializations to board-specific functions,

We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to
be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers
information from it.The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice
because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each
board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect

This commit adds:
- arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig
provide a menu to select target boards
- board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig
set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board
- configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig
default setting of each board(This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script
based on boards.cfg)In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under
arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory.
It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the
command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line.
Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done.
That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a
single directory ./configs/.Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada

The u-boot Overo board actually supports both Overo (OMAP35xx)
and Overo Storm (AM/DM37xx) COMs with a range of different expansion
boards. This provides a mechanism to select the an appropriate device
tree file based on the processor version and, if available, the
expansion board ID written on the expansion board EEPROM. To match the
3.15+ kernels, fdtfile names have this format:
"omap3-overo[-storm]-.dtb"By default, we use "omap3-overo-storm-tobi.dtb".
